Boxing great Floyd Mayweather has reiterated his desire to fight Conor McGregor and “hopes” the event can be negotiated in time to take place this summer.

Mayweather is currently on a European tour but has frequently been asked about a boxing-rules contest that would end his two-year retirement.

“At the moment no papers have been signed but I hope the [McGregor] fight will take place in June,” the American is quoted by Boxing Scene to have said.

“I want to give people a show with the world of mixed martial arts against the world of boxing.”

Previous reports have speculated on a June fight and the 20,000 capacity T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas has allegedly been reserved specifically for a Mayweather versus McGregor event on Saturday, June 10.

Interestingly, the UFC is even an "anchor tenant" of the T-Mobile Arena after UFC president Dana White struck a seven-year agreement with the premier venue at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip.
